Transfer Case Tired or Worn out?

Shift into Strength!

To identify the concern, the most common symptoms are usually heard by listening for grinding noises, difficulty switching between drive modes, warning lights like "service 4WD" or a failure to engage 4WD/AWD, Followed by a visual for fluid leaks around the transfer case and check of the wiring harnesses for damage or loose connections. Retrieve any codes from the vehicle with a scan tool to help zero in on it being a sensor or motor related concern. Sometimes the encoder motor requires replacement and you are good to go, where other times the unit itself is in need of replacing or rebuilding. After repairs, we reset the codes and road test the vehicle to ensure proper function has been restored to all drive modes. Always use the manufacturer recommended fluids for best results.
